Performance Evidence
The candidate must demonstrate the ability to complete the tasks outlined in the elements, performance criteria and foundation skills of this unit, including evidence of the ability to:
consult and communicate with relevant stakeholders, and develop and implement one strategic plan for an organisation on at least one occasion, including:revising mission, vision and valuesanalysing and validating findings of research and analysisobtaining input to and endorsement of strategic plansbrief relevant parties about strategic plan.In the course of the above, the candidate must:analyse organisation’s internal and external environment to formulate strategic plans, including:background and research relevant to strategic planlegislation, regulations and codes of practice, including for intellectual propertyobjectives, strategies and prioritiesroles and responsibilitiesperformance indicatorstimeframescost-benefit and risk analysisseek advice from appropriate expertsmonitor and evaluate the implementation of strategic plan and make refinementsreview effectiveness of planning processes and identify opportunities for improvement.
Knowledge Evidence
The candidate must be able to demonstrate knowledge to complete the tasks outlined in the elements, performance criteria and foundation skills of this unit, including knowledge of:
legislation, regulations and codes of practice relevant to organisation’s strategic planorganisation’s strategic direction, vision and missionmethods for conducting capability assessmentorganisation’s strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats strengths and weaknesses of existing and potential competitorskey features of cooperative venturesmethods for conducting cost benefit analysiskey features of due diligence processesrisks and risk management strategies relevant to strategic planning, including:intellectual property rights and responsibilitiesother risksstrategic planning methodologies, including:political, economic, social and technological (PEST) analysis strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats analysis (SWOT)internal and external sources of information relevant to the organisation’s market, competitors, customer base, vision, values and capabilitiestechniques for developing organisational values.
